24 March 2008 Kites
No, not the kind you fly on a string. These are black kites, a very common bird in Japan. Today they were wheeling and cavorting all over the Kamo river, where I went to enjoy a workless day.
There are lots of photographers dedicated to capturing solely BIF shots—birds in flight, that is. I tend to think these people are pretty weird, but then again I can see how it would get pretty fun, especially if you had one of these to devote to the task…
The crow got the hint and made himself scarce.
I had some fun with processing this one.

Hey Zak, long time no see:-) I often wondered how are things with you – evidently fine. Congratulations on the new baby, she is adorable! (and not much of a baby any more, I guess).

I love the crow one… the kite has a great pose.
